Can you please tell me if your cycle is still going after supplementing with the iodine? I saw some posts where you got your cycle back but didn’t know if it was going to continue.

I was also curious if the iodine supplementation helped any with weightloss?

    Thank you!

You know, I think iodine is definitely necessary, but it wasn’t ultimately my entire problem. My problem was not enough carbs from whole foods (and/or possibly other micronutrients associated with those whole food carbs). I stopped taking iodine a long time ago, and it didn’t really have any effect.

What worked for me in the beginning was a couple of days of bingeing on fruit (in addition to all the meat, fat, vegetables, etc. in my diet). I don’t really do well on fruit in general (it keeps me awake), but these days I make an effort to have 5-6 bites of a potato or sweet potato per meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and that seems to do the trick.

My cycle has been like clockwork ever since. I think that any number of nutritional deficiencies (iodine, carbs, fats, protien, other vitamins and minerals) might affect a person’s cycle. The trick is finding what you as an individual might have depleted in your lifetime, which may be a very individual thing.

What worked for me and weight loss was to start adding those carbs from tubers (again, not a huge amount: 5-6 bites per meal) to my meat and fat, working with barbells for strength – squats, deadlifts, presses – NOT weight machines or metcon, and eating a little bit of fatty meat right before bed, which helps me sleep through the night. This worked for me and might not be the right method for everyone else.

      Good luck!
